Terms and Conditions
1. Ride Like Crazy 2012 (RLC 2012) is a mass participation bike ride to raise funds for eligible charities and is managed by Ride Like Crazy Incorporated (RLC Inc).
2. All registration fees, minus any costs associated with the delivery of the Event, will be donated to the beneficiaries.
3. RLC 2012 will be held on Sunday 15 January 2012.
4. The Event will commence at 7.00am. Facilities at Unley Oval and enroute will conclude at 2.00pm.
5. RLC 2012 comprises a mass participation bike ride consisting of a 107.05km (full), a 90.82km (shortcut route) or a 51.24km (half) ride.
Registration
6. New legislation which came into effect in 2011, now requires participants to sign a Form 1 Liability Waiver. Under Section 42 of the Fair Trading Act 1987, the supplier of recreational services is entitled to ask you to agree to exclude, restrict or modify his or her liability for any personal injury suffered by you or another person for whom or on whose behalf you are acquiring the services (a third party consumer). If you sign this form, you will be agreeing to exclude, restrict or modify the supplier's liability with the result that compensation may not be payable if you or the third party consumer suffer personal injury.
It is a condition of Ride Like Crazy that all adult participants (18+ years on the day of the ride) sign this form.
Note: Children (under 18 years on the day of the ride) DO NOT sign the Form 1 Liability Waiver.
The Form 1 Liability Waiver will be attached to the official 2012 RLC registration receipt via a link. Riders are required to read and, if they agree, sign, date and have the form witnessed. The Form 1 Liability Waiver will be required to be handed to a RLC volunteer at the start of the ride. This will complete the registration process and riders will then be provided with their wristband.
The Form 1 Liability Waiver can also be downloaded from the Ride Like Crazy website.
7. The Adult Registration cost for RLC 2012 is $110.00. The Child (under 18 years on the day of the event) Registration cost for RLC 2012 is $55.00.
8. The first 500 registered participants for RLC 2012 who raise $300.00 through Everyday Hero are eligible for a full refund of their registration cost. Instructions and further information are listed on the Ride Like Crazy website via the link on the homepage.
9. Full payment is required to confirm your RLC 2012 registration.
10. Registrations for RLC 2012 are limited and will close at 11.59pm (South Australian local time) on Sunday 8 January, 2012.
11. Participants who register by no later than 11.59pm (South Australian local time) 7 November 2011 will receive a rider jersey prior to the event. Participants registering after this date will have their jerseys posted to them following the event.
12. Riders will receive a wristband once they have handed their completed Form 1 Liability Waiver to a RLC volunteer at their respective starting point. It is a condition that riders wear their wrist band during the event.
13. RLC Inc reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to accept or decline any registration.
14. Cancellations received up to 5.00pm (South Australian local time) 7 November 2011 will be entitled to a full refund. Cancellations received after this date may receive a partial refund at the discretion of RLC Inc and will be assessed on an individual basis.
15. If RLC 2012 is cancelled by RLC Inc at anytime up to and including 15 January 2012, all registered participants may receive a partial refund at the discretion of RLC Inc after taking event costs into consideration and an assessment of the feasibility of providing a comparable event. In such circumstances RLC Inc will endeavour to provide a comparable event on an alternative date.
16. At the time of registration participants will nominate their jersey / polo size and cannot change their size once the on-line registration is confirmed.
17. All general RLC 2012 communication will be made via email and updated via the RLC website at www.ridelikecrazy.com.
18. If RLC 2012 is cancelled by RLC Inc, all registered participants will be advised via SMS and/or email (provided at the time of registration). ABC 891 radio will also broadcast information confirming cancellation of the ride. In addition, information regarding cancellation will be posted on the RLC website.
19. All prices are quoted in AUD per person and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
RLC 2012 Route
20. RLC 2012 will be staged at the Unley Shopping Centre car park for participants registering to ride the full distance.
21. Participants registering to ride the half distance will commence at Woodside.
22. RLC 2012 will finish at Unley Oval.
23. RLC Inc reserves the right to alter the RLC 2012 route in the best interests of safety.
24. The Extreme Weather Policy is posted on the RLC website. If extreme weather conditions are forecast then this policy will be the basis for any cancellation by RLC Inc.
25. Personal rider support vehicles are not permitted to participate in the ride. RLC Inc will provide support vehicles including SAG wagons, medical support and limited mechanical support.
26. Participants are responsible for ensuring they are familiar with the route. Police, Marshalls or signage will be deployed at strategic locations.
General Conditions
27. The RLC 2012 Event Director is the Officer in Charge, South Australia Police Events Project Team.
28. The Event Director reserves the right to refuse participation of RLC 2012.
29. The Event Director reserves the right to rescind a participant's registration from RLC 2012 where he considers it necessary to do so, for health and safety, conflict of interest or any other reason(s).
30. RLC Inc recommend all participants should consider insurance options that may be relevant to participating in this event such as health, public liability and personal property damage.
31. Persons registering who will be under 16 years of age on the day of the event, must be accompanied by a nominated supervising adult, who is also a registered participant. The nominated supervising adult will be responsible for the child throughout the event.
32. Persons under the age of 18 years (on the day of the event) must have the consent of their parent/guardian in order to participate in RLC 2012.
33. Only human powered cycles are permitted to enter the ride. Motorcycles, scooters and power assisted vehicles are not permitted.
34. Infants occupying child seats and tagalongs are not required to be registered.
35. All participants sharing a cycle (eg: tandem) are required to register individually.
36. It is the responsibility of the participant to be capable of riding the event distance and to prepare mentally and physically for the ride.
37. RLC Inc is not responsible for third party suppliers of services.
38. In the event of participant's bikes being transported on their behalf by RLC Inc, no responsibility will be accepted for any damage that may occur during the transportation and/or storage.
